“Helping the Country
with Twelve Little Things”
“I am Filipino.” This is the simplest
thing that we forget nowadays which I realized from the Symposium led by Atty.
Alexander Lacson. I was so inspired in
his patriotism. I’ve learned how beautiful and wonderful our country is. And
only few Filipinos see this real beauty. Philippines should not be taken for granted
because it’s a blessing from God. We are so much blessed to be born here. We,
as Filipinos should value and do something for the growth and success of our
beloved Philippines. If we really want real transformation, it should begin in
us.
As a youth, I learned that doing these
12 things can have a big impact to everyone. At first when I heard it, I thought
it was easy and little things but as I examined myself if I’m doing it, I
realized that I didn’t do some of it. Oftentimes, I come to school late; I do
not sing our national anthem with pride and honour and I’m not honest sometime.
But through this talk, I desire for a reform first to myself then if I really
do it and made it a habit I can share it to others also. These changes in my
everyday life will not be easy but if I really wanted to help our country I
know that I can do it. I just hope and pray that others may also apply it.
From this day on, my goal is to make
the name of Filipino great in the eyes of the world and our generation will
begin it. I now came to the point of having this heart for my country and I
hope and pray that this fire within me will never die but will be passed on the
next generations of proud and great Filipinos. Onward Filipinos worldwide!
