Money Matter

In every human’s life, money really matters. It’s been a basic need to buy what we need and want. But there’s a catch, and it is where will you get it? Some get it from their salaries in works, others from pension, some who are desperate get it from bad ways like corruption and the most popular way is to win through “lottery.”  Base on my research, a lottery is a type of gambling that has the element of chance. In a lottery, lots are purchased and a lot is randomly selected to win a prize. Gambling can involve skill or just chance alone but a lottery does not involve skill at all. A lottery must be run so that each lot has an equal chance of winning. The only way those in a properly operated lottery have an increased chance of winning is if they buy more than one lot.
Lottery has been a useful tool in providing extra money to improve education and to have bigger share in charity. It’s been a great help for those who were blessed to won in this game. Through winning and becoming a billionaire, many lives were changed. Some, into better life because they can buy what they want and need but some had the worst wherein all they got were trouble. I’ve heard news that a winner of lottery was being abducted and killed when others knew that he won. So, on one side there’s nothing good on it.
People who won and are billionaires right now, never regret when they bought tickets and hope to at least see their numbers because they have good and wonderful lives. Even though they don’t work they still have money to buy their needs but if they use it properly and never waste it. A lot of opportunities were like bubbles that pop up because people don’t value and keep it. Some who say that they have no lack in winning and instead of wasting their money on buying tickets why not use it in starting a new business. I think there’s no evil thing in hoping to win so that you can get a lot of money but the problem with that is, they tend to depend on that very hope without working for real success.
Isn’t it too great to tell others that you get success through your hard work and not just because you bought tickets and win? It’s a nice feeling when you know that you can buy the things that you want because it came from your perseverance and determination. It’s even too wonderful to realize that all are worth it. But of course, it still depends on how we view life. If we want it to be easy then go buy some tickets but if you want it to be a real fruit of success then why not study, work hard, earn and save now.
I remember one man who told me that, “If you’ve put a lot of effort to gain something, you’ll never waste it but you’ll always keep and treasure it, but if it you easily gain it without trying hard to have it, you’ll just set it free.” In life, there will always be choices. Life is a game for you if you’ll just end up depending on lottery. But again, no one can make decisions for you; still it’s you who will decide. It still depends on what really matters to you, is it money or dignity?
or

It's your choice! :)

On My Mind!

Living in the Limelight: Anne Hathaway
Growing up with films like Princess Diaries and Devil wears Prada; Anne Hathaway (Anne Jacqueline Hathaway) has been a part of my colorful teenage life. She taught female youngsters to dream about a Cinderella love story. I’m so impressed on how beautiful she is inside and out. The Emmy winning American actress was born on November 12, 1982. Her father, Gerald Thomas Hathaway, is a lawyer, and her mother, Kathleen Ann (née McCauley), is an actress who inspired Hathaway to follow in her footsteps. Beautiful Anne has really strong values and has stated that she wanted to be a nun during her childhood.
She grew up in New Jersey. She has the same name with William Shakespeare’s wife and her closest friends call her Annie. She has a nice body because she’s a vegetarian. She often plays sassy, free-spirited women who attempt to remain independent. This was also considered to be her trademark which led her to success for the past twelve years in Hollywood.
Everyone knows that Princess Diaries was her breakthrough role. She played as Mia Thermopolis which every female teenager loved. From the start, film makers new she’ll be a big star.  Here are some of her achievements which really testify that she’s a stardom: Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress: Comedy in 2009, ranked #6 by InStyle magazine as one of the 10 most stylish stars in Hollywood (2007), chosen by Empire magazine as one of the 100 Sexiest Stars in film history (#18) in 2007, was ranked #3 on Entertainment Weekly's '30 Under 30' the actress list, ranked #51 in FHM magazine's "100 Sexiest Women in the World 2008" supplement, ranked #5 on Askmen.com's 100 Most Desirable Women in the World in 2009, one of People Magazine's Most Beautiful People, and was ranked #2 on Glamour Magazine's Most Glamorous Women in the World list in 2009.
Despite of a wonderful life in the world of Hollywood, she still experienced a lot of ups and downs in her career life but it doesn’t stopped her to pave her way in being one of the greatest actress in the American history. Some of her most popular movies are Ella Enchanted, Brokeback Mountain, Rachel Getting Married, Love and Other Drugs and One Day. She amazed people because she’s the first and only teenager admitted to the acting program at the award-winning The Barrow Group in New York.
We’ve seen a little bit of Anne’s broad life. Some of us have been inspired through the roles she plays and has learned a lot from it. As dreamers of a wonderful love story, Anne Hathaway has a reminder, “Kindness is really important to me in finding my own prince - so are patience and a sense of humor. Without those qualities he's no Prince Charming!”

"CROCS"

As time goes by, “Trapos” (traditional politicians) made their way wider in increasing their assets while others suffer. It seems to be so obvious that corruption in the Philippines can never be regulated. You can’t trust the public servants even those in the lower sector of the government. I researched about the political situation in the Philippines and it was stated that this never ending graft and corruption has something to do with the countries which conquered us. It was based on socio-cultural aspect wherein even before, our ancestors experienced it.  It was like a curse or bondage. The worst thing is that, it’s like an illness that can be severe if no one will cure. Same with our political situation, if we will not cure it now then what will we face on the next few years?
I will not be shocked if the Philippines’ whole land and properties will not be enough to pay foreign and domestic debts. Those officials are always hungry and never been filled especially when greed strikes them. They can’t refuse to avoid temptation so that they may serve the people honestly. There was one Bureau of Customs personnel who was declared to be AWOL and was reported to gun a student’s car. This incident was also the way wherein other cases were opened. During the case, questions arise about his car business. The clerk has been working at customs for ten years and has a salary of less than P10, 000 a month, however, his luxury car and business has informed the public about the anomalies that are happening inside the Customs.      From the time of Spaniards, corruption has been practiced. Those who said that they will serve the country and will spread the word of God were not really successful except that they were victorious in spreading corruption all over the land. And so until now was practiced by those in the position. They are the ones who are now holding the powers in the government. It is very disappointing that of all the traits, they inherited the worst, but could we really blame them for it? Or they were also victims of the past?
How long this they so called “inherited attitude” takes place? Can I still wake up one morning when there would be no more news about it? Well, this depends on the generations to come, whether they will accept or cut the bondage in the history of politics in the Philippines. I hope that they will cure this severe illness instead of living with it. They may be healed but not that fast because I know that it takes a process, maybe a very long process which needs a lot of time. I wish that those “crocs” will realize what they’re doing before its too late. This is a wakeup call for everyone who is being blinded.
Crocodiles are never been tired of eating. They are always hungry and never been contented. When they already ate something they still want more of it. More that they tend to give it to others and share with them their greediness.
